Tier Three Doulas

Jessi Bonilla is a DONA trained birth and postpartum doula and supports families in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. Raised in California among the women in her family, she learned to value the honorable role a woman holds in her community and the organic support that stems from sisterhood. Upon deciding to extend her roots in New York City as a committed social worker, she had the opportunity to connect with various communities through which she gained significant insight on the array of benefits of creating community. Her encounters have taught and guided her to rediscover the essence and importance of establishing a connection with our children from the onset of life. She is humbled by the miracle of new life and the opportunity it offers a woman and her family to be empowered by her gift to birth.

Fostered by her yoga practice and study of traditional herbal medicines, Jessi offers a calm and grounded presence and is dedicated to continuously expand her knowledge of illuminating women's wellness, harmony and empowerment. She resides in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and is fluent in Spanish.

Chloe Campbell After immersing herself in birth literature in preparation for the birth of her son in Summer 2008, Chloe found herself in a place she never wanted to leave. In January 2010 this passion led her to attend DONA certified birth doula training. The way in which a doula can nourish and support peoples transformation into parents deeply resonated with her, and she is delighted to be a part of NYC Doula Co-Op, absorbing the insights of this inspirational doula community. Chloe builds a relationship with moms and their partners to support their unique process by sharing information and ideas, coming to a deep understanding of their birth preferences and how they hope their experience will take shape. Chloe offers a calm, subtle yet solid presence with you at your birth, honoring your journey by being accepting and supportive of the choices you make along the way.

Maiysha Campbell     Maiysha Campbell is a DONA certified doula and mother of two. She began her birth training as an assistant to a homebirth midwife. She attends births in all settings and is passionate about supporting women during their childbearing year. She plans on adding Childbirth Educator and Lactation Consultant to her credentials to reflect her experience and continued study in these areas. Before becoming a doula, Maiysha studied physics in college and she held various positions in communications and technology. She still enjoys writing and self-publishing on her own blog. When her children are grown she hopes to travel the world and learn about birth in different cultures. Her work is based on a deep respect and faith in the wisdom we all have deep within. She see's birth as a normal part of women's lives and immensely sacred at the same time. She is honored to be doing this work.

Jessie Conrad is a certified birth doula trained through DON International, a certified lactation counselor, and a certified Hatha, Prenatal and Children's yoga teacher. She is a founding member and membership director of the NYC Doula Co-op, as well as a member of the Metropolitan Doula Group and DONA International. She currently offers birth doula services to families in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.  Jessie came to this work through her passion to work with and help others, and her love of children. She strives to bring warmth, compassion, enthusiasm and presence to all experiences in which she is involved.

AJ Frenzel AJ Frenzel brings kindness, passion, and a warm sense of humor to her doula work.  A former Flamenco dancer, AJ has always been fascinated with the capabilities of the human body. Her work as a doula came as a natural extension after the birth of her first child in 2008. Trained in the Bradley method, and devouring anything related to pregnancy, birth, babies and breastfeeding, she developed a deep respect for the broad range of 'normal' experiences in this field, from hopes and expectations, to timing and sensations. She is humbled to support each family's individual experience.  AJ lives in a happy home in Brooklyn with her husband, son, daughter and sister."There is nothing as universal as birth, nor anything as individual."

Jamie Yates came to doula work after the birth of her two boys. She has always felt a call towards the service of others and being a doula is a natural expression of that calling. Jamie hopes to bring calm, quiet support to the women she works with so that they can feel secure in their natural ability to give birth. She is truly humbled and awed by the everyday miracle of childbirth and considers it an honor to be doing this work. Jamie is especially aware of the pressures of urban life. Childbirth can provide a woman and her partner the opportunity to let go of the stress of the day to day and focus completely on this powerful transformation.
