Tier Four Doulas

Rina Crane is a homemaker for her beloved husband and two wonderful children born in 2004 and 2007. More than fifteen years before she would ever be pregnant, she had researched the history and modern possibilities for labor and birth and had prepared her birth plan. She always admired and respected pregnancy and delighted in being with young children. Through the years she worked as a nanny and teacher. Now, as a doula, she is able to help children before they are even born. Rina is truly passionate about labor and birth and is thrilled to share this passion along with her knowledge and experience as a doula, childbirth educator and lactation educator. She lives in the northwest Bronx and is bilingual, speaking Spanish and English.

Piper Harrell is a Certified Labor Doula through DONA International. Piper was transformed by the knowledge, strength and care her labor support provided her during her pregnancy and the subsequent birth of her daughter. Afterwards she began to actively seek out the stories of as many pregnant women and new mothers as she could. She was blown away by the enormity of their experiences and began learning everything she could about birth and the newborn parent relationship. In the process her belief that every woman deserves an informed and powerful birth was solidified. She is thrilled to help pregnant women celebrate their unique strength as she begins the work of giving, listening and bearing witness to their amazing journey.

Stephanie Poplika, CD(DONA), CLC,  is a certified labor and post partum doula and a certified lactation counselor. She holds a degree from Middlebury College in Women's and Gender Studies. Stephanie has a wide range of experience supporting women, including social justice education and leadership development for young women in New York at the Sadie Nash Leadership Project, traveling in Latin America and making a documentary film with local women, curating a human rights film festival in Argentina, and more recently, supporting women through pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. She is also the Director-Elect of the NYC Doula Coop and serves as a mentor for new doulas.

Stephanie strongly believes in the potential for childbirth to be a site for positive growth and fostering a deep sense of fulfillment for both birthing mothers and their families. As your doula, she offers continuous, non-judgmental support and a calm presence throughout your process.

Stephanie is a native New Yorker who makes her home in Brooklyn and serves pregnant mothers in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
